Treffer: Syntax und Valenz : Zur Modellierung kohärenter und elliptischer Strukturen mit Baumadjunktionsgrammatiken (Volume 1.0)

This thesis examines the relationship between the syntax model and the lexical Valen properties using the Tree Adjunction Grammars (TAG) family and the Coherence and Ellipse phenomena. Like most prominent syntax models, TAG operates an amalgamation of syntax and valency that often leads to realization idealizations. It is shown, however, that TAG avoids certain realization idealizations and can directly represent discontinuity in coherence; * that TAG can still be used for a linguistically meaningful analysis of coherent constructions despite the significantly reduced expressiveness compared to GB, LFG and HPSG; * that the TAG derivation tree for indirect gapping modeling is a sufficiently informative reference.
