The article discusses the development of the Asynchronous JavaScript And XML or AJAX computer program. AJAX is a development technique which increases interactivity, speed and usability of interactive web page applications. It involves a combination of XHTML,CSS, DOM, JavaScript or JScript and XMLHttpRequest. Its history can be traced with Microsoft's initiatives in developing Remote Scripting which was first introduced by Netscape in 1997 for its Netscape Communicator browser. A list of browsers that support and do not support Ajax was considered.
