*Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is proud to announce that it is working with IBM Corp. to offer the "Quest for Java'97" Contest, open only to ACM Student Members. Students should submit their very best Java application/applet and compete for a variety of exciting prizes. Ten First Place Winners will receive an IBM ThinkPad. All contest registrants will receive a "Quest for Java" T-Shirt, and a free copy of VisualAge for Java! Registrants must submit an original Java application/applet that solves a real-world problem, including but not limited to the areas of factory automation, education, groupware, financial software and desktop/business applications. Game submissions are excluded from the contest. Students will need to submit their applications starting in early June.*
